Ahead of the Europa League final clash between Chelsea and Arsenal, former England player, Danny Mills has advised the club manager, Unai Emery, to feature Bernd Leno in the post instead of Petr Cech.

Mills called on Emery to drop Cech who has been tipped to take up a new assignment as Sporting Director at Stamford Bridge.

Naija News reports the Gunners qualified for the final after defeating Napoli in the semi-final, while Chelsea defeated Frankfurt.

While speaking on who Emery should use he said, “You start to call into question the player’s integrity, his ability to perform.”

“And I don’t think that’s in question, but the problem is if Cech makes a mistake, if something happens in that game against Chelsea.”

“Go back to the start of the season where I think they played against Manchester City and he [Cech] tried to play out from the back and he gave it to some of the Man City players.”

“Imagine if he did that again… I just think you’re putting him under enormous pressure, it puts himself under incredible pressure.”

“If I was Arsenal, I’m not sure I’d want that. If he makes a mistake, if something happens, there will always be that doubt in people’s minds.”

“If I was Arsenal, and they must know what he’s doing and where he’s going at the end of the season, if he is going to go to Chelsea as we believe, I wouldn’t play him.”

“He can still walk around the pitch and clap all the fans. But I would not play him in that situation, but instead go for Leno.”
