Oyo State: Ajimobi Appoints New Head Of Service

The outgoing Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, as appointed Amidat Ololade Agboola as the new Head of Service of the state Civil Service.

Report into the approval of the appointment has it that she will start work from Friday, May 24, 2019.

This is coming few days to the handing over of power to the Governor-elect, Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Olalekan Alli, the Secretary to the State Government in a statement released on Thursday called on the new head of service to uphold the strong traditions of the Civil Service.

He also challenged her to be committed to the welfare of both the public and civil servants.

Mrs. Agboola joined the public service of Oyo State as an administrative officer in 1988 and has held various positions before she became Permanent Secretary in March 2015, in the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The newly appointed HoS attended Queens School, Ibadan (1975 – 1981) for her secondary school and holds the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) as well as Master’s degrees in History and Public administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1985 and 2008 respectively.

The new HoS, who is a native of Ibadan, the state capital is the wife of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Hosea Agboola.

Agboola, who doubles as co-chairman of the joint transition committee in the state, represented Oyo North in the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015 on the platform of PDP.

Alli revealed that Mrs. Olawumi Ogunesa voluntarily retired from the Civil Service on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
