Court Revokes Bail, Orders Arrest Of Former Governor Babangida

A bench warrant was issued by Justice Aminu Aliyu of the Federal High Court in Minna, On Thursday, for the arrest of former Governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, and Umar Nasko.

Justice Aliyu revoked the bail earlier granted to Aliyu and Nasko by Justice Yellim Bogoro for failing to appear in court after they were served with a hearing notice

According to NAN, the former governor Niger State and Nasko were ordered to appear in court on Thursday.

This is coming after there alleged N1.9 billion fraud case was re-assigned to Justice Aliyu.

A further report had it that their counsel did not show up in the court.

Counsel to Aliyu, Olajide Ayodele, however, sent a letter praying for an adjournment.

The case was adjourned until May 27.
