Two LAUTECH Students, Secondary School Student Die In Road Accident

The death of two students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, and a public secondary school pupil has been described by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Michael as devastating.

The victims were reported to have died in an auto accident in the Aroje area of the town.

A report had it that five students of the institution were involved in the accident which took place opposite a Bovas filling station.

According to Punch, five LAUTECH students were in a white Toyota Camry car when the accident occurred.

It was reported that the car which was driven during a rainfall rammed into an abandoned truck on the road.

Two students of the institution were reported to have died on the spot, while the secondary student was crushed by the car before the car rammed into the truck.

The students were identified as 400-level students, Seun, also known as ‘Young Prof’, and ‘Dr. Sleem’.

Others involved in the accident were identified as ‘Honourable Yusluv’; one Yunus, a 500-level student; and Mayor Timmy.

Further report has it that Yunus is in a coma in the hospital, while the other victims are responding to treatment.

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution stated that he was involved in the rescue effort. He prayed to God to give the university community the fortitude to bear the losses.

“The Vice-Chancellor, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Prof. Michael Ologunde, who was personally involved in efforts at recovering the remains of the dead students, prayed that the Lord repose their souls and grant their parents and the entire university community the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses.”
