Court Remands Man In Prison For Selling Human Parts

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ilorin has today remanded one Taiwo Saka, who was accused of dealing in human parts.

Saka was charged by the police with criminal conspiracy and trading in human parts.

He, however, pleaded not to guilt to the charges

Thereafter, the Magistrate, Mr. Mohammed Ndakene, ordered that Saka be remanded at Oke-Kura Prison, Ilorin until investigations by the police had been concluded.

He adjourned the case till June 17 for further mention.

According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Isaac Yakub, the incident occurred at Adeta area of Ilorin.

He explained that the suspect was caught in Lagos after a very intensive search by the police

He further emphasized that Saka sold human parts to one Azeez Yakub, who is facing trial before the Kwara High Court, for being caught with 11 human skulls.

The prosecutor said that the alleged offenses contravened Sections 97 of the Penal Code and Section 12 of the Kwara State Prohibition of Dealing in Human Parts Law, 2018.
