And although Arsenal are likely to wait until later in the summer to see whether Palace are prepared to lower their price, much could hinge on whether Unai Emery’s side beat Chelsea in this month’s Europa League final.

Arsenal failed to make the Champions League places in this season’s Premier League race.

Sancho set for Dortmund stay

Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho looks set to remain with the Bundesliga club for next season, per the Daily Express.

The England international had been linked with a big-money move to Manchester United among others, but seems to have indicated he will stay with Lucien Favre as they chase domestic glory.

“Next season our target is to win, not come second,” Sancho spoke following a final day that saw Bayern Munich crowned as champions.

Report: Chelsea set to extend Giroud’s contract ‘this week’

Chelsea have decided to trigger a one-year extension on striker Olivier Giroud’s current contract, reports Telefoot.

According to sources in the forward’s home country of France, the paperwork is expected to be completed this week ahead of the Europa League final against London rivals Arsenal.

Meunier uncertainty as Manchester United wait in the wings

Manchester United defensive target Thomas Meunier has suggested he could remain at Paris Saint-Germain and see out the final year of his contract.

The right-back was linked with a move to Old Trafford back in April, as reported by The Sun, but in an interview with Canal+ the 27-year-old Belgian said: “Nothing is clear, with regards to me or the club.

“People are enquiring, left and right, but I still have another year on my contract. The club knows my position, I have always said that I want to stay.”

Milan eye up Mustafi

Milan are mulling over a move for Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi as a replacement for Cristian Zapata, according to Calciomercato.

The Serie A side are thought to be considering whether to make an offer for the German, who has arguably failed to ignite under Unai Emery.

Zapata meanwhile looks set to exit San Siro after he was not offered fresh terms.
