2019 AFCON Mascot revealed

The Organizing Committee of the 2019 African Cup of Nations revealed the AFCON 2019 Mascot; The child “Tut” followed by the Pharaoh King Tutankhamun.

The AFCON starts on June 21 and ends on July 19. The tournament takes place with the participation of 24 teams in six groups for the first time in the history of the African competition.

Egypt came in Group A with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe in the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Afcon: I did not deserve to make Harambee Stars squad – Kenneth Muguna

Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna has admitted that he did not do enough to secure his position in the Africa Cup of Nations-bound Harambee Stars squad.

Kenyan coach Sebastien Migne on Tuesday named a 26-man provisional squad to start preparations for the tournament to be held in Egypt, but the Kā€™Ogalo midfielder was overlooked.

However, he was named in the provisional squad for the Chan tournament and to Muguna, that is where he belongs.

Lucas Radebe: Doctor Khumalo could help Bafana Bafana at the 2019 Afcon finals

Legendary South African defender Lucas Radebe believes that Doctor Khumalo could help Bafana Bafana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals.

Bafana will make their return to the continental tournament after missing out in the previous edition.

Radebe believes that having retired players, who were part of South Africa’s 1996 Afcon winning squad, in the Bafana technical team will be key for the national team.
