The Federal Government has said that it has ‘credible evidence” to back up its outcry that the opposition is planning to “sabotage the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, generally overheat the polity and make the country ungovernable”. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said this on Saturday at the 2019 edition of his annual Ramadan lecture held at his home town, Oro, Kwara State.

The Nigerian Navy has confirmed its recruitment of about 1,176 young men and women to aid its fight against sea pirates and oil bunkers in the nation’s maritime domain. Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), disclosed this on Saturday at the formal Passing Out Parade of Batch 28 recruits trained at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School in Onne, Rivers.

No fewer than 200 sacked workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria under the aegis of Association of Disengaged PHCN Staff Forum of Nigeria have protested in Bauchi State over the non-payment of their entitlements over five years after privatization. The workers expressed their pains and sufferings to newsmen during a protest at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Bauchi state.
