Alvaro Morata wants Chelsea exit to allow Atletico Madrid stay

Alvaro Morata says he is not thinking about returning to Chelsea and will do all he can to remain at Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish striker joined his boyhood club on an 18-month loan deal in January, and has scored six goals in 17 games for Diego Simeone’s side.

Morata is due to return to Chelsea in the summer of 2020, but he told Marca: “What is clear is what I want, I want to be here.”

CITY WILLING TO PAY GRIEZMANN’S RELEASE CLAUSE

When Atletico Madrid announced the impending exit of star attacker Antoine Griezmann this week, most expected to see him holding up a Barcelona shirt sooner rather than later.

But it appears, the Catalans have competition for his signature, in the shape of Premier League champions Manchester City.

Spanish outlet Sport report the English side are ‘willing to pay’ the Frenchman’s €120m release clause. However, there could also be interest from Bayern Munich and PSG for his services.

Manchester United contact Fulham over Ryan Sessegnon deal

Manchester United have made initial contact with Fulham over the potential signing of Ryan Sessegnon, Sky Sports News understands.

Tottenham and Juventus are also understood to be interested in the youngster, who will turn 19 on Saturday, but United are the only team to have approached Fulham so far.

Sessegnon is understood to be reluctant to play another season in the Championship following Fulham’s relegation after just one term in the top flight, and United want to add young home-grown talent to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
