THE FOUR WITNESS ACCOUNT OF NORTHERN VITAL INTEREST

MIYETTI ALLAH KAUTAL HORE’S BELLO BODEJO VS BOLA TINUBU

LESSONS FOR BIOKPOMA AWARA

(By Amaso Jack)

“Fulani elders have distanced themselves from the comments credited to the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Bello Bodejo, saying he lacked the mandate and moral standing to speak for the Fulani.

Bodejo had in a recent interview in a national daily, attempted to whittle down the alleged 2019 presidential bid of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Tinubu.”

STRATEGIC OBSERVATION 1:  Until the precarious power structure of Nigeria is understood, the events in Rivers State cannot be comprehended.

STRATEGIC QUESTION 1: Would the North whose VITAL INTEREST is based on and indeed thrives on this faulty structure, be gullible enough to surrender power to a TINUBU the principal advocate of restructuring?

STRATEGIC OBSERVATION 2: The Fulani are a political majority but a numerical minority.

STRATEGIC OBSERVATION 3: Based on the above stated fact they have developed what Max Siollun would call an efficient and effective “Critical Support Network.”

STRATEGIC QUESTION 2: What is the strength of individual sphere of influence of Alhaji Bello Bodejo with respect to the “Critical Support Network” of the Fulani?

STRATEGIC QUESTION 3: What strength of specific measurable “percent ratio” (in terms of the general “Critical Support Network”) of the FULANI, does Alhaji Bello Bodejo have?

STRATEGIC QUESTION 4: What is the strength of the “Critical Support Network” Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore within the larger FULANI picture, for him to make such a statement?

STRATEGIC QUESTION 5: Who has a stronger “Critical Support Network” of influence, between Alhaji Bello Bodejo of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, and Sabin Garin Nabordo, within Fulani political circles of influence?

Note: “But in a statement issued yesterday by Concerned Fulani Leaders Forum, and signed by Muhammad Musa Bawa (Manman), from Sabin Garin Nabordo in Bauchi State, the elders alleged that Badejo made the statement to serve some dubious interest.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/04/29/fulani-elders-berate-miyetti-allah-official-over-attack-on-tinubu/%3famp

BODEJO’S MIYETTI ALLAH KAUTAL HORE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE OVER TINUBU

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has one Strategic advantage over Tinubu, should he insist on his alleged presidential ambition. That advantage is the Onnoghen option. The damming and damaging allegation by Apara , the Chief executive officer of Alpha Beta against Tinubu  documented with the EFCC, has set up Apara against Tinubu just like Dabo was played against Tarka. This is the audacity of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore’s Abdullahi Bodejo against Tinubu, to put him in check.

“Alpha Beta, a consultancy owned by Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos State and National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is at the centre of a N100 Billion fraud, tax evasion and money laundering petition written by Mr. Dapo Apara, its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

According to Apara’s petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Alpha Beta “has become an avenue for official corruption of government officials, a conduit pipe for massive money laundering scheme, tax evasion, among other vices”.

Important Note 1: If Awolowo by the evidence of the Historian could be convicted without clear evidence by justice Showemimo, the judge with tied hands, Tinubu has an uphill task.

The Historian, N. J. Miners who was a history teacher in King’s College Lagos between 1957 and 1966, who wrote the book: “The Nigerian Army 1956-1966” a part of the “Studies in African History” serial, published by Methuen & Co Ltd, London and published in 1971 in London, by “the grant of a fellowship for two years by the Social Science Research Council” has this entry, on the 133rd-134th pages, in which he wrote about issues that led to Awolowo’s arrest and trial, this way:

“It is quite certain that there was some sort of a plot afoot, since a small quantity of arms was actually seized by the police. It is also accepted by two of the accused, who have since published books on the trial, that men were sent to Ghana for military training, they claim that this was arranged by certain extreme AG militants without the knowledge or agreement of Chief Awolowo.”

DAPO APARA, THE NEW GODWIN DABOH IN THE SPIRIT OF DENNIS AGHANYA

The strategy for keeping a stooge in check, is to select an individual with a criminal case to hide, for when he seeks to advance a contrary interest, his past deeds would be brandished in his face, to keep him in check!

STRATEGIC QUESTION 6: Does Awara have any skeletons in his closet that can be brandished in his face, should he insist on being his own man who protects the vital interest of the South South at the expense of the contrary interest of the North, for which the army tried to rig him into Government House?

“Dennis Aghanya, the author of the petition against Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), is President Muhammadu Buhari’s former media aide.

Aghanya is the executive secretary of the Anti-Corruption and Research Based Data Initiative (ARDI), a civil society group that petitioned the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) over alleged non-declaration of assets by the CJN.” http://www.signalng.com/exposed-dennis-aghanya-author-of-petition-against-onnoghen-is-buharis-former-aide/

It should be made clear that the allegations were by Dapo Apara, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Beta, an insider of executive capacity.

ANY DABOH AND APARA WITH DAMAGING INFORMATION ON AWARA?

Should AWARA deviate from the script of being a stooge set up to protect the vital interest of the North in Government house Port Harcourt and deviate to protect the contending and contrary vital interest of the South South, would:

1 A Godwin Dabo, a Dapo Apara and a Dennis Aghanya suddenly rise up, spill the beans (if he has any controversy) and give him the Onnoghen treatment, like Dabo against Tarka?

“TARKA ME, I WILL DABOH YOU”

Muyiwa Adetiba’s article in the Vanguard, he titled: “Tit for tat or Daboh for Tarka”, is a clear insight of prophetic dimension of what awaits Tinubu as 2023 draws near, which is what probably would have awaited Awara, had he won and decided not to be the stooge in government house Port Harcourt, working against the vital interest of the core North. His only escape route would be no skeleton in his cupboard.

“Back in the 70s, there was a celebrated case that involved Joseph Tarka, an influential and flamboyant politician from the then Middle-belt now known as the North Central zone and Godwin Daboh, a debonair Insurance Executive from the same zone. Daboh was a socialite. A smooth, suave operator whom many would describe as a deal maker and womaniser.

Tarka was a socialite as well; but of a different hue. He was more known as the colourful but dogged fighter for the political independence of the Middle-belt region. For this, he earned a lot of respect and acclaim across the country. For this, he became a powerful minister representing his area in the Gowon administration. You can therefore imagine the interest it generated when his kinsman accused him of corruption.

Allegations and suggestions of corruption were not novel at that stage of the Gowon administration. But it was a military regime and therefore, the accusations were muffled. This time, the details, the specifics and the high profile of the accuser and the accused got the nation salivating. The media on its part was relentless; devoting yards of newsprint to the drama. The tit for tat was interesting while it lasted as the two erstwhile friends threw mud at each other.

At the end of the day, Tarka, the dogged fighter of many political battles, lost this corruption battle and had to throw in the towel. Till today, the term ‘if you Tarka me, I will Daboh you’ which can mean ‘if you dare me, I will spill the beans’ has found its way to the nation’s lexicon. At best, it is a test of secrecy and loyalty among thieves. At worst, a form of blackmail. In this particular whistle blowing episode, few people doubted the complicity of Daboh.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2017/09/tit-tat-daboh-tarka/amp/

Tarka was the political voice of the subjugated middle belt, just like Tinubu has done with Alpha Beta, by the evidence of Apara, he must have deployed state funds to probably build his political empire.

Tarka like Tinubu was the CUSTODIAN of the vital interest of his people, Daboh like Apara, was a willing tool of compromise for the same interest Tarka fought against overtly that Tinubu seeks by covert means to take power from.

STRATEGIC QUESTION 7: Just the way Dabo got Tarka to resign, Dennis Aghanya started the process that culminated in the resignation of Onnoghen, and Dapo Apara is waiting in the shadows of Alhaji Bello Bodejo’s Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, to induce a Tinubu step down, who is waiting in the wings with damaging blackmail information against Awara, should he upon election choose to use his office to compromise the vital interest of the core North in favour of the South South in Port Harcourt?

This is the dark side of politics where blackmail is a tool of interest!

TINUBU LIKE TARKA: THE VITAL RULE FOR CUSTODIANS OF VITAL INTERESTS THE “A”s ADHERED TO THAT THE “T”s DID NOT.

The vital rule for the custodian of vital interest is sacrifice your vested interest for vital interest!

Those custodians of vital interests whose names start with “A”; Azikiwe, Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello knew it. On the contrary, those custodians of vital interest who name start with “T”, Tinubu and Tarka broke the rule.

By a strange twist of SIMILARITY, Tarka who fought the interest that Alhaji Bello Bodejo’s  Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore stands for today, an interest domiciled in the National Party of Nigeria, NPN, the political face of the interest TARKA fought, was the same interest TARKA ended up joining.

Had the Daboh affair put him in a tight corner of compromise?

Major General M.C. Alli ( Nigeria’s 12th Chief of Army Staff, between December of 1993 and August of 1994, when he was replaced by Major-General A. J. Kazir)  in his Malthouse, 2001, book he called: “The Federal Republic of the Nigerian Army, The Siege of A Nation” ,wrote on the 210th-211th page, the following:

“The recruitment of Northerners into the Army, in addition to their existing numbers went on with a frenzy, and so did the recruitment of Yorubas. With the Northern control of the Army, thus established and consolidated, it was not long for the vital interests of the north to dominate the incipient political conversation of the Army into a political arm of the Northern hegemonic resurgence. At some political jingoist observed, there were two political parties in Nigeria by 1983, the conservative National Party of Nigeria, NPN, and the military. Consequently and naturally, the military has been perceived as an armed alternative to the North’s political manoeuvring. The military was therefore transformed and politicised to ensure that failure on the political party tandem does not occasion loss of power by the North”

Buhari the face of the present Northern expansionism turned out to be the Military face that took over from Shagari and has now become the civilian face that is the custodian of the same vital interest.

It is this Buhari the principal enemy of restructuring, that Tinubu the principal advocate of restructuring,  (like Tarka before him who went to Shagari) went bowing too. The strategic implication of Tinubu’s bow to Buhari, was the stillbirth of restructuring!

STRATEGIC QUESTION 8: Was Tinubu with the evidence of Alpha Beta loot, seeking a safe cover from prosecution with that bow?

Repeated Question: Would the North whose VITAL INTEREST is based on and indeed thrives on this faulty structure, be gullible to surrender power to a TINUBU the principal advocate of restructuring?

Will the common factor of “B” that unites Tinubu as Bola with Buhari work? Or will the black mail of Daboh, that found an identity in Aghanya find a new identity in Dapo Apara, giving Tinubu the two options:

  • Drop the presidential bid and the case dies a natural death?
  • Insist on the presidential bid and loose all like Onnoghen?

IMPORTANT OBSERVATION: There was no strong evidence against Awolowo, yet after Showemimo (the judge) jailed him (with those infamous tied hands of his)  the strategy of coercion was used against Awolowo to get him to give up his vital interest. Awolowo captured it this way:

In his March 28, 1966 letter to Ironsi, Awolowo wrote:

“….a Peace Committee headed by the Chief Justice of the Federation, Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, made overtures to me through my friend Alhaji W. A. Elias to the effect that if I abandoned my intention to enter into alliance with the N.C.N.C. which, according to the Committee, was an Ibo Organisation, and agreed to dissolve the Action Group and, in co-operation with Chief Akintola (now deceased), form an all-embracing Yoruba political party which I would lead and which would go into alliance with the N.P.C., I would be released from prison before the end of that year.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thenewsnigeria.com.ng/amp/2016/09/awolowos-50-year-old-letter-from-prison-7-reasons-he-wanted-ironsi-to-release-him-his-colleagues/

ANALYSIS:  If Showemimo, Atanda Fatai William and Obasanjo could be used against Awolowo; the Asiwaju and custodian of the vital interest of the South West, against whom there was no clear evidence, but was jailed on “trumped” up charges, how much more Tinubu, the contemporary Asiwaju and custodian of the vital interest of the South West, against whom exists the red hot evidence of Dapo Apara.

All that is needed to be done by Alhaji Bello Bodejo’s Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore camp is “soften up” Dapo Apara with the promise of a soft landing, for Tinubu’s empire to come crashing in the ruins of Onnoghen!

The point must be emphatically made that the Core North are masters of the game!

A NOTE ON FUNDS AND POLITICS

Akinjide Osuntokun in his biography titled: “S. Ladoke Akintola His Life and Times”, foreworded by Professor E. A. Ayandele, a professor Emeritus of History, University of Ibadan, wrote on the 98th page of his 2010, Mosuro (Bodija, Ibadan) published book, the following:

“Rewane was also on the board of NIPC, and was chairman of the Nigersol Construction Company, Ltd, as well as of the Western Nigerian Water Resource Company, Ltd. These two companies were given an unsecured loan of three million pounds sterling by the Western Nigerian Marketing Board, though there is evidence that the chairman of the two companies passed over two million pounds of this to the Action Group”

Observation: Akinjide Osuntokun’s evidence is captured as in the endnote of the 5th chapter of his book, on the 128th page, this way:

“Mackintosh et Al., Nigerian Government and Politics, op. cit., p.440”

Observation: “Chief Alfred Rewane, the late industrialist and tireless financier of progressive causes since the fifties. He was a great and trusted ally of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and reputed to be one of the financial wizards behind the Action Group’s remarkable solvency during the First Republic.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/thenationonlineng.net/death-chief-alfred-rewane/amp/

A RESPONSE FROM TINUBU’S CAMP

“Henry Ajomale, a former Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Abdullahi Bodejo, National President, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, are in stiff disagreement over the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu, the National leader of the APC.

“Who is Bodejo? Is Bodejo God that he should be making that kind of declaration? Only God knows tomorrow. Bodejo is going too far by trying to play God. What Bodejo should realize is that if God has destined it that Tinubu will be President of Nigeria in 2023, one million Bodejos of this world can’t stop it.” http://saharareporters.com/2019/04/27/miyetti-allah-apc-chieftain-disagree-over-tinubu’s-presidential-ambition

IMPACT OF AJOMALE/BODEJO ON AWARA.

From the evidence of General Alli, there has been a partnership between the Yoruba and the North, from the 1966 coup, that was the result of Ahmadu Bello’s alliance with S. L. Akintola that has produced the Buhari/Tinubu alliance.

Ajomale and Bodejo both have vast spheres of influence and Siollun “Critical Support Network”, however, Ajomale should understand that Tinubu’s Critical Support Network is not as strong as Abiola’s and if Abiola could be overcome, than Tinubu can.

If Awara had won, would he be courageous and strategic enough to evoke the vital interest of the South South, relying on the critical Support Network of the IYC, before he would be most likely swept away by the ensuing crisis of

  • An upland counter revolt on one hand.
  • A core Northern fight back that would bring Wike and Amaechi eyeball to eyeball
  • Culminating in Awara’s removal by a state of emergency in which the candidate of the vital interest of the North like Dr Majekodunmi would be imposed on Rivers State?

Or will Aware be a good boy like Jonathan who refused to threaten the vital interest of the North?
