Arsenal want UEFA explanation after ‘unacceptable’ Europa League final ticket debacle

Arsenal have called on UEFA to explain its decision to stage the Europa League final in Baku – labelling the current situation as “unacceptable” as fans continue to try and find a way of getting to the game against Chelsea on May 29.

Despite only receiving 6,000 tickets for the showpiece event, the Gunners have yet to sell out their allocation due to the difficulties supporters are finding in terms of travelling to Azerbaijan.

Prices for any remaining flights have rocketed to well beyond £1,000 – meaning fans will have to pay more than they do for some season tickets at the Emirates Stadium just to get to Baku. That’s before accommodation and spending money are factored in.

Arsenal news: Fans mock UEFA as flop Denis Suarez is used to promote Europa League final in Baku

UEFA have been mocked by Arsenal fans for including Denis Suarez in their Europa League final promotional posters in Baku.

The Barcelona midfielder has endured a frustrating loan spell at the Emirates, making just six substitute appearances before a groin injury ended his season.

And despite making just two cameos in the Gunners’ road to the final, which takes place against Chelsea on May 29, he is front and centre on posters with Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette.

Alexandre Lacazette sends encouraging message to Arsenal fans amid Barcelona transfer rumours

Alexandre Lacazette has sent a reassuring message to Arsenal supporters that he feels at home in north London amid speculation of a possible move to Barcelona this summer.

Recent reports have claimed that Barcelona are eyeing Lacazette as a cheaper alternative to Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Arsenal are believed to be aware of their interest.

At the weekend, Lacazette admitted he was flattered to be linked with a club of Barcelona’s stature and Arsenal have responded by planning talks with the Frenchman over a new long-term contract.
