PDP, APC Battle In Sokoto State

Rep. Aminu Shagari (PDP-Sokoto) on Thursday announced his decision to reduce the number of witnesses he intends to call from 95 to 46.

Shagari, who is the son of late President Shehu Shagari, is challenging the election victory of Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Yabo of the APC in the Shagari/Yabo Federal Constituency before the Sokoto State Election Petition Tribunal.

According to Shagari, in his submission before the tribunal, Umar-Yabo did not score the highest number of lawful votes cast at the polls.
