2023 JAMB: Candidate Breaks UTME Mathematics Score Record

Few days after the 2019 UTME results were released, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has noted that over 1.3 million candidates have been able to access their results using the code, 55019.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board’s head, Media and Information, stated this during an interview with NAN on Wednesday.

The statement came with respect to the report making rounds that the majority of candidates who participated in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination are yet to access their results through the given code.

He also dismissed the report that the #50 charge gotten through the code was going to the board’s purse.

“I want to refute all these claims as there is no truth in them.”

“First and foremost, by our records, over 1.3 candidates who sat for this examination have accessed their results using the code for checking the results, which remains ‘55019’.”

“Again, let me also state in clear terms that the N50 charged in the process of checking these results does not go to JAMB’s purse but to the various service providers,”.

He stated that the body had to react because of the rumour that the board is charging a fee for checking of results.

Benjamin while giving the breakdown of the total number of results checked through the various network providers, he noted that MTN had the highest, with a total of 888,598, followed by Glo, with a total of 190,923.

He stated that Airtel came third with a total of 104, 970 candidates who have so far accessed their result using the network.

He stated that earlier, Airtel had some technical hitches, but the challenges had been addressed.

He further stated that a total of 62,170 candidates had also accessed their results using the 9mobile service provider.

The spokesman expressed the board’s sincere apologies over the development and appreciated the candidates for their concern in accessing their results.

He stated that the board is working with network providers in ensuring quality service in subsequent examinations.

He stated that there are plans to forward the results to candidates’ profiles for viewing and printing.

Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that the results for the 2019 UTME were released on
Saturday, May 11.

Over 1.8 million candidates registered for the examination.
