Police Arraigns Woman In Court For Allegedly Stabbing Another With Broken Bottle

A woman identified as Kehinde Adesanya, was on Tuesday arraigned by the police in an Ikorodu Magistrates Court in Lagos State for allegedly stabbing a woman with a broken bottle.

According to NAN, the 32-year-old woman is facing a count charge of assault occasioning harm.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegation.

Sergeant Mary Ajiteru, the prosecutor, while speaking in the court stated that the defendant committed the offence on May 8, at 8:30 pm at No. 72 Isawo Road, Owutu, Agric. area of Ikorodu.

Ajiteru stated that Mrs Adesanya stabbed one Mrs Abosede on her left arm with a broken bottle which led to bodily injury.

The prosecutor stated that the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 246(a) of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The defendant was granted bail by the magistrate, C.K Tunji-Careena in the sum of N70,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until June 6, for mention.

The Magistrate further stated that one of the sureties must be a blood relation, gainfully employed with an evidence of two years tax payment.
