1. JAMB Releases 2019 UTME Results Of 1.7 Million Candidates (Check Here)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has finally released the results of the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Naija News reports that JAMB released results of 1,792,719 candidates who sat for this year’s UTME today, Saturday, May 11, exactly twenty-two days after it conducted the examination.

2. 2019 UTME Results: JAMB Registrar Breaks Down In Tears (See Why)

Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Saturday broke down in tears as he announced the release of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Oloyede was in tears over the discovery made during the period of scrutiny of the examination centres.

3. Kano: Finally, Sanusi Reacts To Ganduje Creating New Emirates

Adam Lamido Sanusi (Ashraf), a son of Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has said the creation of four new emirates by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje will only stand if the governor was on the right path. Naija News recalls that Ganduje had signed into law, a bill for the creation of four new emirates for Gaya, Rano, Karaye and Bichi believed to be an attack on Emir Sanusi.

4. Kano: Ganduje Speaks On Court Order Stopping Creation Of New Emirates

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Saturday denied receiving any court order stopping the creation of new Emirates in Kano State. Naija News had reported that a High Court in Kano on Friday, stopped the State Governor, the Kano State House of Assembly, the Speaker, Clerk of the Assembly, including the Attorney-General and the State from implementing the splitting of the Kano Emirate.

5. Atiku Vs Buhari: DSS Speaks On Indicting Justice Bulkachuwa

The Department of State Security Services (DSS) has denied reports of its alleged indictment of the Chairman of the Presidential Election Tribunal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa. In a statement signed by DSS Spokesman, Peter Afunanya, the agency described the report as ‘false’.

6. Akpabio Vs Ekpenyong: Tribunal Fixes Date To End Pre-hearing

The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Akwa Ibom state has set May 13 to conclude pre-hearing on the petition seeking to nullify the election of Dr Christopher Ekpenyong as Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom North West. Chairman of the three-man panel, Justice W. O. Akanbi during pre-hearing session on Friday noted that owing to the nature of the case which is bound by timelines, it would be in the interest of the parties to allow them to proceed to the main subject of the case while the ruling on the preliminary objection will come as part of the final judgement of the tribunal.

7. ANC’s Ramaphosa Wins South Africa’s Election

The African National Congress (ANC), led by union leader-turned-business magnate Cyril Ramaphosa, has retained a slim majority of seats in South Africa’s parliament, giving Ramaphosa a weak mandate for a full five-year term as president, Washingtonpost.com reports. Wednesday’s election, 25 years after the ANC-led South Africa out of apartheid and into a democracy for all its citizens, was seen as a referendum on the party.

The Presidency has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop dragging the presidency into their current media smear campaign against the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa. Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, made the appeal in a statement in Abuja on Saturday.
