The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), will release results of the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) today, Saturday, May 11.

Naija News reports that the development was disclosed on Friday, May 10 by Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB.

The JAMB Registrar also said the board would give details of the 2019 UTME results to journalists on the day the results would be released.

“We had a meeting on Friday. And so, we are releasing our results tomorrow,” Oloyede said on Friday, affirming that the results would be released on Saturday.

This online news platform recalls that the Board conducted the 2019 UTME between April 11 and 18, with massive malpractice recorded during the UTME, a situation which JAMB officials regretted.

Apparently displeased with the massive malpractice, JAMB banned 100 of the 687 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres over allegation of malpractices and violation of extant regulations.

“In the course of our biometric examination, over 100 centres are discovered to be involved in acts, not in tandem with JAMB rules and have been banned from participating in examinations,” the JAMB Head of Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin said during an interview with a Nigerian newspaper, The Guardian.

The JAMB Head of Media and Information said only perpetrators of examination malpractices would be punished.

On Friday, JAMB paraded one of its staff caught collecting N25,000 from an admission seeker in 2018. Adamu Martin, a jamb worker attached to the Information Technology Service, was said to have promised an unnamed candidate admission in 2018.
Speaking on the development, JAMB Registrar, said the board was conducting internal scrutiny of its staff, noting that any staff caught would be dealt with.

“He collected N25,000 for admission. So, we are not hiding anything. Even internally, we are doing scrutiny. Anybody caught will be dealt with according to the law,” Oloyede said.
