Nigerian Army Arrests Man Who Supplies Bandits With Weapons

The Nigerian Army says that its troops on Exercise Harbin Kunama III have arrested a logistics supplier for bandits hiding between Jibia – Batsari axis of Katsina State.

A statement from Army spokesman Colonel Sagir Musa said, the supplier one Marwana Abubakar was arrested at Kwashabawa village in Jibia Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State on Wednesday the 8th of May 2019.

He also said based on a tip-off, troops of 311 Artillery Regiment, conducted a raid operation on a suspected facility in Kontagora township. He said during the raid, some weapons were discovered and recovered.

He said a local weapons fabricator, Salisu Ibrahim was also arrested by the troops in Kontagora, Kontagora LGA of Niger State.

Meanwhile, Naija News reports the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu earlier this week met with Head officers of Special Anti-Robbery Squads (SARS), and the Anti-Kidnapping Squads across the 36 States of the country and gave them a fresh order on tackling the activities of robbers, bandits, Kidnappers, etc.
