Abuja To Experience Six-Hour Blackout On Saturday (See Reason)

The nation might experience a nationwide blackout owing to the collapse of the national electricity grind.

Naija News understands that the national electricity grind collapsed on Thursday morning at about 5:30 am.

The Thursday’s collapse comes in about 18 hours after a similar collapse on Wednesday afternoon.

While the previous collapse was restored gradually on Wednesday evening, the latest collapse has left many states without power completely.

Due to the recent collapse of the grind, a source revealed to Naija News that for about two hours, the entire franchise of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) comprising of  Kogi, Abuja, Nasarawa, and Niger States had no electricity.

The collapse also went further to affect states like Sokoto, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina under the Kaduna Electric and Kano DisCo, it was gathered. Although the remote and immediate causes are being ascertained, officials of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said they are working hard to restore the power grid shortly, Daily Trust reports.
