Emefiele’s Letter Read During Senate Plenary

The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Thursday during plenary, read President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter nomination Godwin Emefiele for a second term as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Recall Naija News earlier reported that Buhari on Wednesday, signed the letter nominating Emefiele and forwarded same to the Senate.

BREAKING: The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has just read a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari, reappointing the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, for a second term.

Mr Emefiele, before joining the CBN, spent over 26 years in commercial banking culminating in his tenure as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank PLC.

Recall that the CBN governor was first appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan towards the end of his administration.
