1. Villagers Block Osinbajo’s Convoy Over Alleged Land Grabbing By Army

Angry protesters on Tuesday blocked the convoy of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo along Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway in Abuja.

The vice president convoy ran into a barricade by Gbagyi people at Goza village while it was heading to the airport.

2. Court Grants PDP’s Adeleke Bail, Adjourns Case

A magistrate court sitting in Mpape, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, has granted Ademola Adeleke, the lawmaker representing Osun west senatorial district, 2 million naira bail.

Naja News had reported earlier that Adeleke, who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2018 governorship election in Osun state, southwest Nigeria, was detained by the police.

3. Kano Election: Tribunal Rejects PDP’s Request

The Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Tuesday denied the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) application to scan forensic electoral materials used during March 23 supplementary election.

NAN reports that PDP had earlier filed a motion on notice, requesting for the extension of time to allow the party inspect, acquire forensic and scanned copies of all the electoral materials used during the March 9 and March 23 gubernatorial election in the State.

4. Presidency Denies Offering Miyetti Allah N100m

The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has said that Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, is like Afenifere and Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo socio-cultural groups and thus should not be criminalized.

Shehu also defended the meeting between the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and the leadership of the Miyetti Allah.

5. Senate, Police Reach Agreement On Curbing Insecurity In Nigeria

The presence of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu at the closed session of the Senate on Tuesday saw the duo reach a decision on putting an end to the insecurity in Nigeria.

6. NAF Attacks Bandit Camp In Zamfara State, Kill 20

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its Air Task Force (ATF) for “Operation DIRAN MIKIYA” has destroyed the camp of a major kingpin, Alhaji Lawal, killing no less than 20 of his fighters near Rugu Forest in Zamfara.

A statement on Tuesday in Abuja by Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, disclosed this to newsmen.

7. Buhari vs Atiku: Tribunal Issues Important Notice To Atiku

The 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has been served a pre-hearing notice by the presidential election petition tribunal.

Recall Atiku is contesting the 2019 presidential election result which declared Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner.

8. Unemployed Youths Now Taking Kidnapping As Occupation, Buhari Laments

President Muhammadu Buhari has lamented the spate of killings, kidnapping and other prevailing criminal activities in the country.

The President further lamented that unemployed youths are now taking up criminal activities as a way of generating funds for themselves.

9. Nigeria’s Problem Is Not Corruption, But Leadership – Dogara

The Speaker of the House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara, recently stated that the problem experienced by Nigeria is not corruption but lack of leadership.

Dogara stated this on Tuesday at a conference tagged “The Convergence 2.0: Leadership, Power, and Politics for Democracy Renewal”, Nigeria’s largest gathering of elected young representatives, organised by the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Movement.

10. FG Charges NFF President Pinnick With Misappropriation Of Fund

The Federal Government on Tuesday charged the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick and four others with alleged misappropriation of $8,400 belonging to the football federation.

In a 17-count charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/93/2019, filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the money was said to have been paid by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to the NFF as appearance fees in the group stage of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
