BREAKING: Three APC Ruled States Drag Buhari's Govt, CBN To Court Over Naira Scarcity

The Presidency has kicked against the decision of the House of Representatives to summon President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News recalls that the lower chamber of the national assembly had on Thursday, asked Buhari to appear before it over the high rate of insecurity in the country.

This online news platform understands that the development is the second time the green chamber would be summoning the president within a month.

Reacting to the development during an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Garba Shehu, a presidential spokesman, said he was of the opinion that Buhari should not honour the invitation.

His words: “Well, if the president will go or not, you obviously know that he will not sit on the table and ask Garba and say what is my view on this?” Shehu said.

“The likely person will be his attorney-general or his special assistant on matters of the national assembly.

“If you want my personal opinion, I would say that that shouldn’t happen,” he said.

Meanwhile, kidnapping and banditry have taken a rise across Nigeria with the father-in-law to Buhari’s aide-de-camp (ADC) being the latest victim as he was kidnapped while the president was in London for a “private visit.”
