1. President Buhari Disappoints Critics, Returns To Nigeria From ‘Private’ UK Trip As Scheduled

President Muhammadu Buhari has on Sunday, returned to Nigeria from his ‘private trip’ to the United Kingdom, Naija News authoritatively reports.

The arrival of the President was confirmed in a statement signed by Mr. Femi Adesina, his special adviser on media and publicity and sent to our newsroom by the President’s media team on Sunday.

2. 2019 UTME: Candidates Beg JAMB To Release Results

Some 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) candidates have appealed to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to release their results.

The candidates spoke in separate interviews with newsmen on Sunday in Bwari.

3. Revealed! EFCC In Fresh Move Against Bukola Saraki

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly initiated a fresh investigation, which seeks to probe all salaries, allowances, estacodes, and payments Bukola Saraki received as governor from 2003 to 2011.

The probe coming eight years after Saraki left office as governor of Kwara State, was contained in a letter to the state government, through the Permanent Secretary, Government House, dated April 26, and titled, “Investigation Activities: Dr Bukola Saraki.”

4. National Assembly: PDP Leaders Set To Back Lawan, Gbajabiamila

Some leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are reaching out to newly elected or re-elected federal legislators from the party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure a rancour-free election of principal officers of the 9th National Assembly.

The concerned PDP leaders, according to sources, are keen on persuading their fellow party members to shelve any idea of opposing the preferred choices of the majority APC during the election of Senate President and Speaker of House of Representatives.

5. Biafra: Umahi, Ohanaeze, Others Reject IPOB Sit-At-Home Order

The declaration of a sit-at-home in the South-East by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra appears to be at the verge of failure as various groups in the region have scoffed at the order.

IPOB said the order, scheduled for May 30, was to mourn its members, who were allegedly killed by agents of the Federal Government on the day two years ago.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Monday, May 6, as the 1st Ramadan, 1440H, signifying the commencement of the annual long-month fast by Muslims.
