The general overseer of Christ evangelical and life intervention ministry pastor Yohanna Buru has commenced the distribution of Ramadan Foodstuff to destitute Muslims on the street, so as to enable them to have enough food for the 30 days of the holy month.
Naija News understands that the Fast has been declared by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, to commence 6th May 2019.
A statement made available to Naija News disclosed that this is the 4th time, the church is sharing bags of grains and another foodstuff to large numbers of street beggars, internally displaced person and some children at the orphanage home and to some Muslims inmate
He says we do this in other to strengthening peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance among different faith base organization, in other to live in peace and harmony according to the teachings of the holy books
“we must remember that we worshipped one God, and we are from the family of Adams and eve, therefore we must join hands to support each other”
The clerics further called on wealthy Muslims to equally remembered the less-privileged, IDPs, widows in the society, so that they can participate fully with enough food
Additionally, the Christian scholar congratulates Muslims on the Arrival of Ramadan, and urged iman & ulamas to intensify prayers for peace and unity of the country
“we are here at the disabled person house to support them with food to each,and we are just starting distribution of grains today, we will continue to other places by tomorrow”
Responding the chairman of the association of disabled person at Kano road Kaduna, Mallam Abdullahi sama’ia”sarkin guragun Duka kaduna: expressed delight over the kind gesture by the church. He also appealed to wealthy Muslims to support the destitute with food, because they have children.
Sama’ila further called on the federal government and state government to be assisting the street beggars with food on a season like, noting that sometimes, we don’t even have food to break our fasting
Meanwhile, Naija News reports that kidnappers have continued to rampage the state and its environs, killing and kidnapping scores of people in the process.
