A Nigerian man identified as Orisakwe Ifeanyi Emmanuel was on Thursday killed while seven others have been arrested by the Philippines Police.

Naija News reports that the incident occurred when the operatives of the police raided an alleged online ‘love scam’ hideout in Imus, Cavite.

Names of those apprehended were given as; Kenneth Chukwu, Ikenna Dickson Okalla, Chukwuma George Adibe, Chiboy Stanley Agbasi, Dim Remedios, Abas Kashmir and Uba Living.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) anti-cybercrime agents, armed with a court search warrant, swooped on the suspects’ hideout where the now deceased man pulled out his rifle in order to evade arrest.

The officers were said to have overpowered Emmanual but he grabbed a hand grenade after he was being led to the Police van; a development that prompted the Police officers to open fire at him, killing him.

Other seven suspects who were apprehended are currently facing charges under the Republic Act 8484.
