Bandits Attack School In Zamfara State

Armed gunmen, suspected to be bandits, launched a daring attack on the Government Girls Secondary School, Moriki, Zulu Local Government, Zamfara State.

According to a report gathered by Naija News correspondent, the bandits shot sporadically in the air and kidnapped two teachers and four nursing students of the school, also killing one man in the process.

Reports by the BBC Hausa, said the incident happened on Wednesday night as residents watched the UEFA Champions League game between Barcelona and Liverpool.

Local residents, however, said the bandits were unable to get to where students were sleeping.

This online platform reports that Zamfara has been a hotbed in recent times, suffering from bandits attack and kidnapping.

This has forced the President to stop mining activities in the troubled state as the criminal activities have been linked with illegal mining activities in the state.

President Buhari also ordered security operatives to go all out and deal ruthlessly with the perpetrators of such acts.

In a related development, Naija News recalls gunmen on Wednesday, kidnapped the district head of Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar.

Umar, a former Customs officer, is married to the daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari’s sister.

He is also reported to be the father of Fatima Musa, wife of Mohammed Abubakar, Buhari’s aide de camp (ADC).
