1. Senate Passes 2019 National Budget

The Senate on Tuesday passed a sum of N8.916 trillion as the budget for the 2019 fiscal year as against the N8.83 trillion proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News reports that the new budget figure was passed after Danjuma Goje, chairman senate committee on appropriations, presented a report on the floor of the upper legislative chamber.

2. NGF Bars Reporters From Covering Induction Programme

Journalists who came to cover the day two of the NGF induction programme for newly-elected and returning governors were barred from gaining entrance into the venue.

The three-day induction programme is ongoing at the State House Conference Center, (Banquet Hall), Abuja.

3. UBEC Chairman, Daughter Regain Freedom From Kidnappers

The Chairman of Universal Basic Education (UBEC), Dr Muhammad Abubakar, and his daughter have regained their freedom.

Naija News reports that the duo regained freedom on Tuesday according to Shehu Sani, a senator representing Kaduna central at the Nigerian Senate.

4. Battle Line Drawn As Yahaya Bello Dares Dino Melaye

The governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has challenged Dino Melaye, a senator representing Kogi West at the Nigerian Senate to go ahead and publish the expenditures of Kogi government between 2016 to 2019.

5. Workers’ Day: What Atiku Said About Nigerian Workers

Zainab was falsely accused of drug peddling in Saudi Arabia and was arrested in December 2018 with , a banned substance.

The National Assembly has jerked up the 2019 budget by over 100 billion naira.

8. Boko Haram Fighters Get $3,000 Daily Allowance- Mohammed Declares

Member of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative (PCNI), Sidi Ali Mohammed says that Boko Haram fighters were being paid $3,000 daily compared to Nigerian troops ₦1,000 daily.

Ali made this known while speaking at the Presentation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Sub-Sahara Africa’s Economic Outlook Report, in Abuja on Monday.

9. Akpabio Speaks On Dumping APC For PDP

Senator Godswill Akpabio has dismissed reports of him planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom had last year announced his resignation as Minority Leader of the Red Chamber and defected to the ruling APC.

10. Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Deputy Registrar Of Taraba State University

The Deputy Registrar Administration of the Taraba State University, Jalingo, Mr Sanusi Sa’ad has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday.

Naija News understands Sa’ad, who also doubles as the Information and Protocol Officer of the University was picked in his house at the University quarters around 1am on Tuesday.
