Kogi: Gov Bello Sacks Commissioner, Two Others

Youths Support Yahaya Bello’s Second Term Ambition

Some youths in Kogi State under the aegis of the Forum of Coordinators of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have donated N2m to Gov. Yahaya Bello’s second term campaign bid.

The chairman of the forum, Mr Abdullahi Adamu who presented the cheque to Gov. Bello on Tuesday at the Government House, Lokoja, noted that the fund is to be used to purchase the Expression of Interest (EoI) form.

Naija News recalls the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the gubernatorial elections in Kogi state to hold on November 2, 2019.

The Governor was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Edward Onoja.

“We are donating N2 million for the purchase of ‘expression of interest’ form for our youthful governor for the November gubernatorial election in Kogi,” Adamu said.

Adamu who disclosed the money was raised from contributions by youths from the 21 local government areas of the state, said the youths are pleased with the youth-oriented policies of the governor and would love to see same continue beyond 2019.

He further gave assurances that the youths were ready to canvass votes and support for Bello towards his second term ambition.

The governor, responding through his Chief of Staff, appreciated the youths for their thoughtfulness, and thanked them for their show of love and concern, promising to continue to initiate and deliver people-friendly policies.

“My emergence and continuity is the fulfillment of divine mandate expressed through prophecy; that is why the move never lacked all the support and human resources to back its successes.

“This gesture is first of its kind in the political history of Kogi and many other similar gestures that have been forthcoming from areas least expected.

“This is a proof of God’s backing in the fulfillment of the agenda capable of heralding overall development,” he said.
