I Am Focused On Building Edo State – Obaseki

Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo state on Wednesday, denied any form of disagreement between himself and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki spoke upon his arrival at the Benin Airport when he arrived back in the state following a one-month vacation outside the country, Naija News reports.

The governor described as fake news, reports of the rift between himself and Oshiomhole who is also his predecessor in office.

There had been rumours that the two leaders were not on the same page over the second term ambition of the governor, but Obaseki while denying such rumours, urged the people of the state to focus on good governance rather than engage in baseless rumours.

Governor Obaseki arrived the Benin airport at exactly 11:30am in the company of his wife, Betty and told the crowd of supporters who came to welcome him of his readiness to take the state to greater heights as he had returned refreshed and feeling good.

The Governor was received by the state’s Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, Secretary to the state government, Osarodion Ogie, Edo State House of Assembly Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto and Chief of staff to the governor, Taiwo Akerele, as well as other APC leaders in the state.
