Former Lawmaker Was Killed For Banishing Cultists – Suspects

A cultist who was recently arrested by the Anambra State Police Command, Chigbo Aniegbu, stated that the former lawmaker in the state, Frank Igboka was killed by his gang because he banished them from Nimo Community.

The suspect while being paraded by the state police command stated that the lawmaker terrorized his gang while serving as the President General of Nimo community.

The 27-year-old suspect also known as Transformer, stated that Igboka promised to keep them away from the community until they change their way of life.

Aniegbu, who confessed to being a member of the Vikings cult denied firing the shot which led to the death of Igboka.

“I was at Oyeolise when they (cult members) told me to join them for an operation, but I was not told that it involved the killing of Igboka. That was why I was speechless when they shot the man.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mustapha Dandaura stated that the three members of the cult are still at large, he added that the police are currently tracking them down.

The suspects still at large were identified as Chukwunonso, Nwasami and Obinna Okafor.

He stated that the Governor of the state, Willie Obiano, has increased the reward promised to anyone with credible information about the killer of the lawmaker from N5m to N15m.

He said, “I am happy to announce that the governor has increased the price of anybody who can lead the police to arrest the remaining three suspects to N5m each.”

“It would be recalled that on April 16, 2019 around 8.18pm, the President General of Nimo community, Chief Frank Igboka, was shot and murdered by gunmen around Nimo market in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.”

“Following the incident, the command launched an aggressive manhunt for perpetrators of this dastardly act, which led to the arrest of the kingpin, Chigbo Aniegbu, aka Transformer. Other gang members are at large and effort is being intensified to apprehend them.”

Dandaura stated that the state police command have arrested 265 suspects in total in the month of April.
