Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday met with the acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar over security issues in the state and other parts of the north.
Naija News understands that the meeting started around 11:30 am at the Arewa House in Kaduna.
Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, made this known on Twitter Tuesday.
Others who were in attendance are; Mansur Muhammad Dan Ali, the Defence Minister, and Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF.
Ahmad said the theme of the meeting was “how to tackle the menace of insecurity ravaging the North.”
He wrote: “SECURITY ISSUES; Regional Meeting of the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council is currently taking place at Arewa House in Kaduna. Hosted by @GovKaduna. Theme; how to tackle the menace of insecurity ravaging the North. Sultan of Sokoto, SGF, IGP and Defence Minister in attendance.”
El-Rufai’s meeting with the security chief comes after the series of attacks in some part of the state.
Naija News recalls that the UBEC Chairman, Daughter On Kaduna-Abuja were kidnapped along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
Although the chairman and his daughter have regained their freedom, Senator Shehu Sani has also reacted to the kidnap of the UBEC chairman, daughter on the Kaduna-Abuja Highway
