1. Herders-Farmers Crises: President Buhari Reveals The Real Reason Governor Ortom Left APC

President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the real reason why the Benue State Governor, Mr Samuel Ortom left the ruling All Progressive Party to the People Democratic Party.It will be recalled that the Governor won his second term in office with the main opposition political party. Naija News learnt that the President made the revelation during town-hall with the Nigerian community in Dubai on April 9. He said that his differences with Governor Samuel Ortom on the herders-farmer crisis compelled the Benue governor to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He reportedly added, “I took the governor on this and this is one of the reasons he left our party for another party.

2.Benue Killings: Governor Ortom Goes Spiritual, Calls For Prayer and Fasting

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on the people of the state to pray and fast against the rise in insecurity in the state.The governor made the clarion call at NKST Church, Iordye, Makurdi, noting that there were evil forces causing bloodshed and destruction in the state. “There is a lot of bloodshed and destruction of property in the land and one thing is certain that only the devil can instigate human beings to kill his fellow beings and destroy the property.” Ortom who said that he believes in the efficacy of prayers added that God who had answered the prayers of people in the past would answer the prayers of the people in the state.

3.Benue Killings: How A CCT Judge Escaped Assassination Attempt In His Home Town

Justice William Adteze, of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), has narrowly escaped death when bandits attacked his country home in Benue State.Naija News learnt that the jurist’s kinsmen were however not as lucky as four of them were slaughtered by the bandits.

Narrating how the unfortunate incident happened, Hon. Mike Adteze in an exclusive interview with one of Nigerians topmost online platform said that Justice William Adteze was home in Ngibo village, Katsina-Ala local Local government area in Benue state for Easter holiday.

4. Benue State Rejects FG’s Plans To Re-Introduce Grazing Routes In The Country

Benue State is presently in a tensed state after presidency hinted about its plans to reintroduce grazing routes in the country. It will be recalled that the state recorded a number of killing in the past week which has led to the state government to place a 24 hr curfew last weekend. In a reaction to the President’s planned action to reintroduce grazing routes in the country, Naija News learnt that the President’s comments no doubt generated a backlash and obviously did not go down well with Benue people who have not hidden their resolve for the absolute implementation and enforcement of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law enacted by the state government in 2017.

A serving corps member, Ferdinand Lorwuese Kutar, has been laid to rest on Saturday, April 27, in his hometown Tse Kutar Nyiev, in Guma local government area of Benue state.Naija News understands that the Corps member died mysteriously 3 days after his traditional wedding and was buried in Benue.The deceased member National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who was serving in Zamfara allegedly died on April 16, just three days after his traditional wedding.
