Police Arrests Man For Stabbing Another To Death During A Fight

The Lagos State Police Command on Sunday, arrested a man identified as Sunday Isaiah, for allegedly stabbing a man, Bukola Oluwaseun to death during a fight at Agege area of the state.

The state police command PPRO, Bala Elkana, in his statement stated that investigation into the incident revealed that suspect used a bottle to stab the victim in the neck, he further stated that Oluwaseun died while on the way to the hospital.

Elkana added that the corpse of the victim has been deposited in a mortuary for post-mortem examination.

“On Sunday, April 27, 2019, around 2.45pm, the Dopemu Police Station received a distress call that some persons engaged one another in a fight at a drinking joint on Ogunbamibi Street, Agege. A team of policemen from the Dopemu Police Station was drafted to the scene to restore order.”

“Preliminary investigation carried out revealed that one Bukola Oluwaseun, 37, of Adeyola Street, Dopemu, was stabbed in the neck with a bottle by one Sunday Isaiah, 42, of Olufeso Street, Dopemu. The victim died on the way to hospital and his corpse was deposited in the mortuary for post-mortem examination. The suspect has been arrested by the police. The case will be charged to court.”

In a related case, the police command in the state has revealed that six suspected cult members have been apprehended for the killing of four rival cult members during a clash which took place in Ajah area of the state.

The suspects were identified as, Babatunde Wasiu, Bolaji Elijah, Joseph Timothy, Bolaji Olayiwola, Saheed Lateef and Julius Augele, adding that four other suspects earlier arrested had been charged to court.

“The suspects were arrested in connection with the clash between Eiye and Aiye cults on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at General Paint, Ajah. The clash left four Aiye members dead. The axes and jackknives they used during the clash were recovered from them.”

“Four suspects were earlier arrested and charged to court, bringing the number of the suspects arrested to 10. The Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, is investigating the case, and the suspects will be charged to court,” he said.
