The Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State, who suspended it chairman, Damishi Sango, last week have set up a 7 man committee to investigate the chairman over alleged misappropriation of party funds.

Recall that Naija News last week reported that the PDP chairman in Plateau State was suspended alongside his deputy, Amos Gombi, over misappropriation of campaign funds.

The development was revealed by the state acting chairman, Chris Hassan at a stakeholder meeting on Monday in Jos.

The members of the committee were named as, Mr Sunday Panwal, (chairman), Mr Ventim Ntem, Mr Dayabu Dauda, Mr Auwal Haruna, Ms Sylvia Miri, Mr Moses Sule and Mr Panson Dagyat (secretary).

Senator-elect, Istifanus Gyang, while speaking after the meeting, described the situation as a family affair.

“I and other elected members of the National Assembly under the party attended the meeting to affirm the suspension of the chairman,” he said.

Gyang stated that the committee that was set up to investigate would look into the allegations against the party chairman.

He stated that the crisis within the party would not affect the plan of the party to recover its mandate at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
