New Minimum Wage: How AGF Is Delaying Implementation Process

The implementation of the new National Minimum Wage bill signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari has been hit by some bottlenecks.

Officials of some state governments told Saturday Punch that they had yet to receive the documents containing the implementation guidelines from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, almost 10 days after the wage bill was signed into law.

PDP To Back Goje, Ekweremadu For Senate Leadership

The horse-trading for the leadership of the 9th Senate intensified yesterday with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spearheading negotiation with some aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the office of the President of the Senate.

The PDP is plotting a joint ticket by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Sen. Danjuma Goje and the outgoing Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu.

Osun: Court Asked To Sack PDP’s Adeleke From Senate

The Federal High Court Abuja was on Friday asked to decide whether Ademola Adelekestill qualified to be a serving Senator having been found guilty of forging the Secondary School Certificate he used in contesting the election.

This is contained in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/462/2019 and filed by Akinwale Olaniyi and Akinjide Monsuru and made available to newsmen by their Counsel, Mr Ola Adeosun in Abuja.

Ortom Denies Plotting To Dump PDP For APC

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has denied rumours making rounds that he is planning to dump the Peoples Democratic (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with newsmen on Friday, Ortom stated that there was no basis for leaving the PDP as he has been accommodated and made comfortable in return.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, has accused the PresidentMuhammadu Buhari-led administration of arm-twisting  INEC into tampering with the result of the presidential elections.

Speaking to newsmen on Friday in Abuja, Secondus also stated that there was no evidence that President Buhari was in charge of the country.
