Kidnappers Demand Cash Ransom For Abducted NEMA Staff

Abductors of the four staff of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who were kidnapped on Tuesday in Rivers State, have demanded a ransom of N40 million.

The kidnappers reportedly, demanded the sum of N10 million for each of their victims.

According to information made available to our newsroom by PR Nigeria, the kidnappers also threatened to keep their victims in hostage if their demand is not met quickly.

Recall as previously reported by Naija News, the kidnappers had taken hostage five NEMA staff who were on an official assignment at Abua-Odua Local Government near Ahoada in Rivers State.

The officials were kidnapped after completing an enumeration exercise to determine the number of farmers who were either affected by flood or conflicts to benefit from the National Emergency Agricultural Intervention Fund under the National Food Security Program of the Federal Government which covers 18 states of the federation.

However, one of the staff, identified as Minafel Ikisikpo who was shot and seriously injured, managed to escape after he pretended to be dead.

PRNigeria gathered that the four staff taken into custody by the kidnappers are Julius Alunomoh, Damian Egwu, Olisa Ojukwu and Chidiebere Wendy, the only female staff.
