The three people who were earlier hospitalized in the jilted lover, Deji Adenuga, incident at Igbodigo town, the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, have finally died.

With this report of their death, this brings the number of casualties in the tragedy to eight.

Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that Adenuga on Tuesday allegedly set ablaze the room where the eight family members of his lover, Titi who had broken up with him were leaving.

A report into the incident had it that he decided to set the house on fire because his lover decided to put an end to their relationship.

The incident had initially led to the death of five members of the family while three others were hospitalized with critical conditions.

According to Punch, the three other victims were confirmed dead a few hours after they got to the hospital.

A police source revealed that the deceased included, Glory Alade, Mercy Alade, Joy Alade, Adebayo Alade, Aladesewa Alade, Johnson Alade and Ayorinde Alade.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the development.

“I can confirm to you that three more people have died. The girl (Titi) is the only member of the family alive. For the suspect, we are still on his trail and we will soon get him,” Joseph said.

The PPRO noted that Titi had been admitted to an undisclosed hospital, adding that she was in a traumatic state.
