NNPP To Investigate Kwankwaso, Others Over Alleged Misappropriation Of Party Funds

A cabinet member of the Governor Umar Ganduje administration in Kano State, Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has claimed that he helped former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso join politics.

Speaking with New Telegraph newspaper, the Commissioner for Rural Development said he ensured Rabiu Kwankwaso’s participation in politics despite all odds.

Iliyasu said while Kwankwaso was at the water board and another political dispensation was around, he personally insisted that ex-governor had to join partisan politics.

“That time, we were actively involved in politics and I as youth leader had a say on what happens, and when I brought Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso around, there was a serious debate on who he was,” he said.

However, he lamented how the Senator representing Kano Central played his politics in contemporary times, saying “he (Kwankwaso) has truly derailed from what he was taught.”

Iliyasu said in all the elections that were conducted in Kano, they had never had a genuine, free and fair election while Kwankwaso held sway in the state as governor.

He claimed that all the elections were manipulated by Kwankwaso and numbers were just gathered and allocated to people.

“Even this last election, hundreds of foreigners from Kaduna and other places were brought into Madobi by Kwankwaso to perpetrate rigging, but as God would have it, true indigenous Madobi people stood their grounds against it,” he alleged.
