EPL: Emery Speaks After Arsenal Defeat To Wolves

Published

on

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has refused to blame any particular player for the Gunner’s disgraceful 3-1 loss to Wolves in the English Premier League.

Naija News understands that Bernd Leno misjudged Jonny Castro Otto’s cross to allow Doherty to nod home, then he looked to be beaten too easily by Jota, as the Gunners lost the game.

Speaking after the clash, Emery said he won’t blame Leno or any player for the defeat at the Molineux.

“I don’t want to speak about individuals. We need to continue together and not look at one player, defensive or attacking,” the Spaniard said.

“We need to think to recover our confidence, our good moment. When we were in the worse moments we can recover to take possibilities like we have now.

“In the last two matches we lost good options but the last three matches we are going to play we will play our possibilities.”

On Arsenal’s away form, he noted: “I usually am very critical of myself. I am angry with myself when we didn’t do the game plan I wanted.

“My idea, my style is to look in front and find the solution, not who is the player who is playing worse or not doing what we spoke of before.

“First I think of the solution. That is to think about Sunday and take the possibility to come back with our best performance to take the three points.

“When we win, we win together and when we lose, we lose together. In general, I think we have possibilities to be in the top four.

“We lost the chance to have it in our hands but we will continue and take the opportunity on Sunday.”

Chelsea Beat Toothless Norwich 7-0 To Maintain EPL Lead

Published

on

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea on Saturday defeated bottom of the table Norwich City in a 7-0 thriller to maintain their lead in the 2022/2023 English Premier League season table.

Chelsea’s victory earned them 22 points this weekend to maintain the gap between them and rivals Liverpool.

The Reds will have to win their away match against Manchester United on Sunday to close the gap on Chelsea.

Naija News understands that Norwich is yet to win a match this season.

Chelsea’s forward, Mason Mount scored his first Premier League hat-trick against Norwich today, clearing the coast for the Blues.

Jorginho had teamed up with Mount to open the scoring in the eighth minute of the game.

Chelsea doubled their lead with another goal through Callum Hudson-Odoi, who slid in from Mateo Kovacic’s pass.

The Blues made it three before half-time when Reece James brilliantly dinked the ball in from Mount’s assist.

While the Canaries are yet to recover from their wounds, the fourth goal on 57 minutes came in for the Blues through Ben Chilwell, his fourth in as many matches, Naija News understands.

To make it five for Chelsea, Hudson-Odoi played a deflective shot in off Max Aarons.

The game became tougher for Norwich after a second yellow card was handed to Ben Gibson.

At this time, Chelsea added a sixth through Mount’s retaken penalty.

Though Tim Krul had saved the original spot-kick, he was adjudged to have been off his line when the ball was struck.

Mount completed his hat-trick in stoppage time, to inflict the Canaries’ joint-heaviest Premier League defeat and secure a third successive victory for Chelsea, giving them 22 points.
