The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has welcomed the visit of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Althani to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News had reported earlier that the Emir met the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

During the meeting, Buhari asked the Emir that Qatar should invest in Nigeria’s sectors including petroleum, power, aviation, agriculture and railways so as to uplift the quality of life of Nigerians.

“We invite you to invest in our refineries, pipelines, power sector, aviation, agriculture, education, and many others so that you can have your management here to oversee the investment. We need your expertise,” President Buhari said.

Reacting to the meeting in a tweet, Sani wrote: “The Visit of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Althani to President Buhari is a welcome Development.

“Qatar has been a friend to Africa, helping in crisis spots such as Darfur & lia.

“They have also been doing a lot of charity in Nigeria. Its time for Nigeria to mediate in its crisis with Saudia and call for an end to the siege of the country,” the Kaduna central lawmaker tweeted.
