1. How Obasanjo Helped Create Boko Haram – Soyinka

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has accused former President, Olusegun Obasanjo of contributing to the creation of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Featuring on BBC’s Hardtalk anchored by Zeinab Badawi, Soyinka explained that the former president failed to stop a Northern governor from creating what he termed “theocratic state”, hence he contributed to the emergence of the terror group.

2. President Buhari Breaks Silence On Recent Gombe Killings

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sadness over reports of the killing of some Christian youths during an Easter procession Sunday night in Gombe, and reprisal killing of the law enforcement officials allegedly responsible for the tragic incident.

Describing the violent actions as “very unfortunate,” the President extends condolences to the families of the victims, while wishing the several injured speedy recovery.

3. Osun Guber Tribunal: PDP Rejects The Inclusion Of Justice Oyewole As Panel Member

The National Working Committee of the PDP has rejected the inclusion of Justice J.O.K. Oyewole as a member of the state’s Governorship Election Appeal Panel.

PDP also stated that Oyewole is a subordinate of the National leader of APC, Bola Tinubu, therefore, an interested party.

4. Lagos Guber Tribunal: I Am Confident Of Victory – Sanwo-Olu

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, stated that he is sure of victory at the state’s Governorship Electoral Petition Tribunal.

The Governor-elect said he is confident of victory at the Tribunal sitting at the Ikeja High Court Complex in respect to the two petitions challenging his victory at the March 9 governorship poll.

5. Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Provides Evidence Buhari Not Nigerian

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed fresh proof allegedly buttressing his claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is not a Nigerian.

In his broadcast from Radio Biafra at the weekend, Nnamdi Kanu said that neither “dead” Muhammadu Buhari, nor “his replacement” Jibril al Sudani, is qualified to contest for Nigeria’s presidential election.

6. Buhari, Emir of Qatar Meet Behind Closed-doors

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met behind closed doors with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hammad Al-Thani, at the Presidential Villa.

The emir on arrival at the villa at about 12.15 p.m., was received by Buhari at the forecourt of the villa.

7. APC Wants Only Party Loyalists In Buhari’s Cabinet

Naija News understands the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is perfecting plans to ensure that only faithful party members are appointed into President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term cabinet.

President Buhari, who has been duly elected for a second term in office, will begin his new term on May 29th, 2019 and there are already political calculations on those who will constitute the President’s cabinet.

8. Budget Padding: Dogara Attacks ‘Ignorant’ Tinubu

The Speaker of the House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara, has slammed the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, for alleging that the National Assembly has been padding the national budget for four years.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Turaki Hassan, Dogara described Tinubu as “ignorant of the budgetary process.”

9. Dino Melaye To Sue Gov. Yahaya Bello, Kogi State House Of Assembly

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has threatened to drag the Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello to court this week.

The Senator further revealed that he will be joining the Kogi state House of Assembly as well in the legal suit.

10. Second Judge Hands Off Okorocha’s Certificate Of Return Case Against INEC

Another judge has withdrawn from the suit filed against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.

Okorocha is seeking an order compelling the nation’s electoral umpire, INEC to issue him a certificate of return as the senator-elect for Imo West.
