FRSC: 32 Persons Convicted Over Traffic Offenses During Easter

No fewer than 32 persons have been convicted by a mobile court under the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano State for various traffic offenses.

Naija News recalls that the agency had warned ahead of the Easter season that it will punish Traffic offenders who refuse to adhere to its laws, especially those who exceed speed limits.

The Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Kabiru Daura, who made the announced in a statement today said that 38 persons were arraigned before the mobile court on Thursday, where six persons were discharged and acquitted.

He disclosed that the Command had deployed 853 personnel, including regular marshals, for the Easter operation.

In the statement released to the News Agency of Nigeria, Daura said that 14 patrol vehicles, two ambulances, and one truck for removal of obstructions were also on 24-hour standby.

According to him, the corps marshal has directed aggressive public enlightenment at motor parks and places of worship.

The enlightenment is to inform people about the importance of driving and being driven safely within the season and beyond.

The season’s operation, according to him, will focus on critical offenses, particularly overloading and failure to utilize speed limiting devices in commercial vehicles.

Other offenses to be checked include drivers’ license violation, tire safety and removal of spoilt vehicles and other obstructions from the roads.

He said that the FRSC kicked off the operations for the safety of people traveling for the Easter
