The shortlist of English Premier League Player of the Year award for the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has been unveiled.
Naija News understands the six-man shortlist was revealed on Saturday.
According to information obtained from Liverpool’s official website, two Liverpool players, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane, have been listed and are in contention for the award.
Manchester City boasts three nominations: Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling while Chelsea’s Eden Hazard completes the list.
Mohamed Salah, who won the award last year, was not listed on the final six-man list this year.
The PFA Players’ Player of the Year is voted for by PFA members from the 92 Premier League and Football League teams.
For the players shortlisted for the Young Players prize, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, West Ham’s Declan Rice and Bournemouth’s David Brooks will battle the City duo of Raheem Sterling and Bernado Silva.
The winner will be announced at the end of this month.
