Armed Bandits Sack Kaduna Village

Residents of Kuriga village in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State where forced to abandon their homes and belongings as armed bandits launched a daring attack on their community.

It was reported that the villagers, mostly women, arrived Birnin-Gwari on Wednesday as internally displaced Parsons, IDPs, due to the attack.

This development was made known to newsmen in a statement by a group known as the Birnin-Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance.

The statement said, “Kuriga village situated along notorious Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna Highway has been attacked by bandits nine times.

“The latest was on Tuesday night in which five women and men were abducted and cattle carted away by bandits.

“We urged all security and intelligence personnel to be on alert and salvage this ugly situation.”

Furthermore, Naija News understands the bandits also sent a letter on Thursday, 18th April, warning the people of Kuriga to leave the area or risk abduction.

According to a report by Daily Post, the State Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, could not respond to calls put to him on phone as at press time as regards the development.
