Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to claims that Muhammadu Buhari doesn’t need a WAEC certificate to contest for the Presidential election.

Naija News had reported that the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo (SAN) had declared that one does not compulsorily need a WAEC certificate to become President of Nigeria.

Keyamo made the assertion on Sunday when he answered a question on the eligibility of Buhari to contest the presidential election.

In his submission, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria said, if you have occupied the public office for a reasonable length of time, you do not need a WAEC certificate to become president of Nigeria.

Reacting to Keyamo assertion on Twitter, Femi Fani-Kayode wrote: “Buhari may not need a WAEC certificate to contest but once he swore to an affidavit or presented a form indicating that his qualifications include WAEC it becomes a different matter.

“Or has he withdrawn his WAEC claim?
