The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has dismissed reports that he is plotting to reverse the Supreme Court ruling on Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Apex court barred the APC from fielding candidates for the 2019 elections in Rivers State.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused Malami and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, of plotting to reverse the judgement.

The ruling party in Rivers State noted that the AGF wants to mount pressure on the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed, to effect the reversal.

Speaking with State House correspondents on Wednesday, Malami downplayed the accusation of the PDP.

“Regarding what was levelled against me by PDP, I think it remains an accusation.

“It has to remain so until proven through a judicial process.

“But, for me, I think it is freedom of speech that has been taken too far,” Malami said.
