Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sacked all his political appointees.

Naija News learnt that the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Bernard Ogbonna, who made this known in a statement issued yesterday, listed the affected as special advisers, special assistants and technical officers, including those serving in the offices of the deputy governor and the governor’s wife.

The statement also announced the dissolution of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB).

Ogbonna expressed the governor’s appreciation to members of the board for their contribution to the growth of the education sector in the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.

According to the permanent secretary, the governor also directed that commissioners, Secretary to State Government (SSG), principal secretary to the governor, deputy chiefs of staff in the offices of the governor and deputy governor and the chief press secretary to the governor should continue with their official duties till further notice.

He (governor) wishes to express profound appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of his administration in the past four years and assures that their contributions to the making of a more progressive Abia would never be forgotten,” the statement added.
