1. No Part Of Nigeria Is Under The Siege Of Boko Haram -Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said no part of the country is under the control of Boko Haram insurgents. He said this while delivering his remarks at the world economic forum on the Middle East and North Africa.

2. NAF Neutralises Insurgents In Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has neutralised some members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists at Tumbun ‘Alpha’ in Northern Borno. Naija News reports that the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole, neutralised the ISWAP in an operation on Friday.

3. Appeal Court Rules On Adeleke’s Eligibility For Osun Governorship

An Appeal Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, has dismissed the nullification of Senator Ademola Adeleke’s eligibility to contest for the Osun State Governorship election. The court dismissed the earlier ruling on three grounds which included; that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the case.

4. Millions Gone As Fire Razes Shops In Aguda, Lagos (Video/Photos)

Property and goods estimated at millions of naira were destroyed on Saturday afternoon when a fire razed shops at Aguda bus stop in Ogba, Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city. Naija News learned that the fire started around 2 p.m from one of the shops, which sells Sharwama, and spread to other shops.

5. APC To Resist Reappointment Of Buhari’s Minister

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has vowed to resist the reappointment of the Minister of Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, in President Muhammadu Buhari‘s yet to be named cabinet. Speaking with newsmen on Friday, the state Publicity Secretary, Benedict Godson, disclosed that the party does not support the current ongoing plans to reappoint Enelamah.

6. Okorocha, Uche Nwosu Politically Valueless – Senator Uzodinma

The governorship candidate of the APC in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has said Governor Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, do not have political value to win an election. He was reacting to a statement credited to both Okorocha and his son-in-law that APC lost because Nwosu was not given the party’s ticket.

7. EFCC Chairman Reveals How Bankers Launder Funds For Terrorists, Politicians And ‘Yahoo Boys’

The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu, says some “fraudsters in banks are laundering public funds for corrupt politicians and terrorists”. Naija News reports that Magu made this comment during a meeting with compliance officers of different banks in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital on Friday, April 5.

8. I Can Be President Of Nigeria, Babachir Lawal Boasts

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, says he can be President of Nigeria because he is “quite competent to do so”. Naija News reports that Mr Lawal made this comment during an interview with The Sun Newspaper, where he noted that the Nigerian constitution did not limit the presidency to any part of the country.

9. How Gov Yahaya Bello Wants To Get N30BN From CBN – Melaye Cries

Senator representing Kogi State West senatorial district, Dino Melaye has raised an alarm stating that the Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello wants to get and squander some billions of naira from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Using his verified Twitter page @dino_melaye . He said Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State requesting 30 billion from CBN.
