Rivers Election: What Ben Bruce Said About Wike’s Victory

Senator Ben Murray Bruce representing Bayelsa East at the Nigerian Senate, says Governor Nyesom Wike’s victory at the polls is a testament to how well he is connected to his people.

Naija News recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared Wike winner of the governorship election.

The Returning Officer for the election, Teddy Adias, made the declaration at INEC head office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital on Wednesday evening.

Wike polled 886,264 votes ahead of Biokpomabo Awara, candidate of the African Alliance Congress (AAC) and his closest rival, who garnered 173,859 votes.

Reacting to Wike’s victory in a tweet on Wednesday, Bruce congratulated the governor for being a “slayer of dictators and their puppets.”

The Bayelsa East lawmaker wrote: “Congratulations to the slayer of dictators and their puppets.

“They came hard against you, but you made them fall harder than they came with people power.

“Your margin of victory shows how connected you are to the people, making you a man of the people, for the people. Proud of you,” Bruce wrote on Twitter.
