Kogi: Gov Bello Sacks Commissioner, Two Others

The All Progressives Congress was on Wednesday charged to reject the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello as the flag-bearer of the party ahead of their primaries.

The call was made by protesters under the aegis of Network of Kogi Youth Group at the National Secretariat of APC in Abuja.

The group in a statement that was submitted to the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole stated that it is a risk to allow the Governor run as the candidate of the party following his actions upon his assumption of office.

The group pointed to the lack of payment of salaries and none developmental projects in the state.

“The executive Governor of Kogi State has perpetuated numerous wrongs ranging from the lack of payment of salaries; lack of developmental projects.”

“Embezzlement of state funds in humongous proportion; introduction of anachronistic laws, which have heightened insecurity in the state as well as deaths of civil servants due to hardship,” Chairman of the group, Comrade Enejoh Odaudu Enemali said.

“Kogi State wants continuity of APC, but not with Alhaji Yahaya Bello,” asserting that the governor has failed to prove his mettle in the last three years.

He stated that the party should not use its result in the last election to judge its chances of winning if it uses Governor Bello as their candidate.

He claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party in the state is planning to come-back if Bello eventually emerged as the flagbearer.
