Breakdown Of Final Rivers Election Result Of All LGAs
Naija News has obtained the breakdown of the governorship election results recorded in all the local government areas in Rivers state.
This online news platform reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), conducted the governorship and House of Assembly elections at exactly 8 am on Saturday, March 9, amidst tight security but suspended the collation of the results due to violence.
The electoral umpire, however, resumed the collation of results on Tuesday, April 2 and ended Wednesday, April 3.
Naija News recalls that INEC declared Governor Nyesom Wike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate winner of the Rivers governorship election.
The Returning Officer for the election, Teddy Adias, made the declaration at INEC head office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital on Wednesday evening.
Wike polled 886,264 votes ahead of Biokpomabo Awara, candidate of the African Alliance Congress (AAC) and his closest rival, who garnered 173,859 votes.
